Like most that heard about the verdict in the Sean Bell case, I was totally pissed! But in reality I wasn't surprised by the the verdict at all. Situations like this happens all the time. It is just a damn shame how America values the lives of minorities. Looking at this picture breaks my heart because in this sad situation a little girl is going to grow up without a father. A mother is going to have to live with the fact that her son was killed for no reason by the people that are here to protect us! And people wonder why we are so angry! I was listening to Wendy Williams last Friday, and she was moved to tears while talking about the verdict. She talked about how she has raised her son to know that as a black man, he can accomplish anything. But it hurts her to know that her son is being brought up in the world that treats African Americans in this form. This whole thing is just a slap in the face, but I really wonder how long it will take for us to relies what is going on and how we will stop this! We need to breed in more leaders in this generation. You telling me the only ones we have standing up for us is Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson! Yea, a lot people came out for Sean Bell and Jena Six, but there is so much more to be done. I know that as Black folks we are tired of fighting for equality and things that should be in our birthright! But we need to do something! As a generation I think we are scared to go all the way. People like MLK, Malcolm X, and Rosa Parks wasn't afraid of going to jail or even risking their lives to get their point across. I also believe that violence and destruction will not help us get are point across, but we need to knock down some doors! And where is all the hip hop artist that claim to know all about living in the hood where the government don't give a damn about the people living there! I guess that they are all for exploiting than helping! STOP TALKING ABOUT THE PROBLEMS AND START DOING SOMETHING ABOUT! That message is not only for the rappers and the rich and wealthy! It is for all for us! I don't care if you are White, black, or whatever, we all can make a change. We need to come together because all this segregating as we can see are doing us no good! I just pray that through this unfortunate situation can bring forth a solution. Also, listen to the interview that Miss Jones did with Naughty By Nature! They was speaking the truth!
